The Golden Roosters DKP Policy
We will be utilizing an open bid system to keep bidding transparent and fair. What this means is that members will bid DKP openly in the designated chat channel (typically raidsay) against one another until the highest bidder wins the item. Minimum bid increments will be 5 DKP. This means if a bid is currently at 5 DKP, you must bid 10 for your bid to be valid. You may only bid what is in your DKP pool prior to each raid- shown on the live DKP website. You may not go negative, and the DKP you will earn on the current raid cannot be counted towards your bids.
Recruitment Period for New Applicants
New applicants will undergo a two week 'recruit' period. During this time your raid attendance and performance will be evaluated by the officer team. After this two week period has expired the officer team will vote on granting you full-fledged membership. Recruits will acquire DKP during this period and may bid on items versus members under 33% raid attendance and other recruits.
DKP will be accrued in the following ways and increments.
On Time Bonus: 5 DKP
30 minute incremental 'ticks': 3 DKP
'Boss' encounter kills: 10 DKP
Raid End Bonus: 5 DKP
When the guild slays a 'boss' target for the first time, it will result in all participants receiving double 'boss' encounter DKP.
The Bidding Process and Tiers of Bidding
Members who maintain a 33% raid attendance (RA) averaged over 30 days are eligible to bid on all items first. We realize special circumstances come up in real life, and if your RA drops below 33% one month but you have had consistent and high attendance in the past, an exception may be granted upon request and officer core review.
Tier 1: Members over 33% RA - Second Main's
Tier 2: Members under 33% RA - Recruits - No RA Requirement
Tier 3: Alts or boxes not currently in the raid (comes from main DKP pool)
Bidding on items for non-boxed alts will only be permitted if your brief absence to switch characters and loot the item will not interfere with the flow and progress of the raid. If you are serving a vital role within the raid and we do not have the personnel to 'pick up the slack' while you switch characters- you may unfortunately be denied access to bidding on the item. We cannot have raids interrupted and time wasted for individuals to gear up alternate characters that do not contribute to our raid force.
Second Main Policy
People who box effectively during raids will be granted 'second main' status on their box character. This character acquires DKP in the same manner as a regular main. The primary difference here is that a second main may only bid a maximum of 50 DKP on any item.
DKP Decay on Expansion Unlock
When a new expansion unlocks DKP decay will hit all characters. Decay will work in the following manner.
Members above 70% raid attendance will receive a 20% decay.
Members above 50% raid attendance will receive a 35% decay.
Members under 50% raid attendance will receive a 50% decay.
Second mains will receive a 50% decay regardless of raid attendance.
Planar Armor and Epic Loot
Planar class armor will be randomed instead of DKP bid - using the same tier system as described above. Meaning 33%+ RA members will have first dibs on rolling.
Epic item drops will be awarded to the member with the highest RA attendance.
Main Change Policy
Changing mains to a class that is in need within the guild may be done without penalty. Example, changing from an enchanter ( currently listed as low need ) to a Cleric main (currently listed at high need ) may be done without a penalty to your DKP pool. With regards to this one exception the following penalties will be in place for main changing.
First main change will be a 25% penalty.
Second main change will be a 50% penalty. ( with officer approval )
Third main change will be a 100% penalty. ( with officer approval )
Any subsequent main changes (example 4th, 5th, etc) will be 100% penalty.
First 'second main' change will be a 50% penalty.
Second 'second main' change will be a 100% penalty. ( with officer approval )
Any subsequent 'second main' changes (example 3th, 4th, etc) will be 100% penalty.
Droppable / Tradable 'Big Ticket' Item Policy
Selling guild loot is a huge faux-paus. High value items such as Cloak of Flames, Amulet of Necropotence and White Dragonscale Cloak are forbidden to be sold in era unless consulting the guild leadership core. Once our guild has an abundance of loot this policy may be relaxed, especially during kunark era. If you bid on an item such as Runed Bolster Belt, and then receive an even better upgrade, such as a 41% Plane of Sky haste belt, you may return your item to the guild and 70% of your DKP spent on the item will be returned. The returned item will then be DKP bid off again.
